چکیده

In this paper, AISI 441 stainless steel was investigated as a casting using the investment process (ICP). The microstructure and mechanical properties of as-cast normalizing treatment samples were analyzed. results show that tensile strength prepared by ICP is 458 MPa, elongation 22.7%. Normalizing can improve performance ICP, but have slightly decreasing trend with increasing temperature time. suitable condition 850 °C for 2 h. It found time little effect on grain size carbonitride. There an in mean equivalent length (MEL) Laves phase increases. increment mainly related to change size.

An Investigation on Mechanical Properties of Ultrafine Grained 316 Stainless Steel by Thermomechanical Treatment

In this paper, an advanced thermo-mechanical treatment was conducted on AISI 316 austenitic stainless steel. At first, three samples were rolled at the ambient temperature, the temperature of -20 ºC (dry ice and ethanol) and -196 ºC (liquid nitrogen). Then, the samples were annealed at 800 ºC in the time range of 1 to 15 minutes. In each step, the microhardness values of the samples were measur...

Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Ultrafine/nano Structured AISI 321 Stainless Steel Produced by Thermo-mechanical Processing

The mechanical properties and microstructural developments of 321 stainless steel during thermomechanical process were investigated. The repetitive cold rolling and subsequent annealing were conducted to achieve nanocrystalline structure in an AISI 321 stainless steel. Heavily cold rolling at −20°C was conducted to form martensite in metastable austenitic steel. The process was followed by anne...

Effect of Thermomechanical Processing on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Duplex Stainless Steel

Duplex stainless steels (DSSS) have a microstructure composed of ferrite and austenite phases that gives them a very good combination of mechanical and corrosion properties. These steels are desirable for many applications in the chemical and petrochemical industries. In the present study, a type of stainless steel was cast, solution annealed at 1200°C for 60 min and then quenched in water. Ini...

The Effect of Tempering Treatment on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of DIN 1.4021 Martensitic Stainless Steel

To investigate the effect of tempering treatment on mechanical properties and the microstructure of DIN 1.4021 Martensitic Stainless Steel, austenite treatment was conducted for the samples at 1000 ºC temperature for 60 min and then the samples were oil quenched. Later, tempering treatments were performed for the samples at 500 ºC and 700 ºC temperatures for 2 and 5 h, respectively; then quench...

Modelling Mechanical Properties of AISI 439-430Ti Ferritic Stainless Steel Sheet

The comprehension of the anisotropy impacts on mechanical properties of the rolled steel sheets was investigated using a non-quadratic anisotropic yield function. In this study, experimental and modelling determination regarding the behaviour of an industrial rolled sheet for a ferritic stainless low-carbon steel were carried out. The parameters of the associated yield equation, derived from th...
